Our Why
In today's fast paced world, we offer a simpler, more connected learning experience. We empower children to be self-sufficient, savor the present moment, and build a strong community.

Extensive research proves that children learn best through nature and play, but very few schools implement this. Whether it be working with fractions and decimals while making sourdough, or learning how to manage disappointment when the caterpillars eat the parsley we worked so hard to grow, the natural world has so many valuable lessons. In today’s result-driven and screen-heavy world, we often miss out on these vital lessons.

Through daily time in our outdoor classroom and garden, as well as a nature-based curriculum aligned to core standards (the Oak Meadow homeschool curriculum), we hope to provide a well-rounded education that teaches children to live a well-rounded life. Academics and nature seamlessly blend in our approach. Children learn math and science through hands-on projects like canning and soap making, and strengthen reading and writing skills by journaling their outdoor observations.

Our small student-to-teacher ratio maximizes individual attention and creates a safe, welcoming environment where children thrive. Our hope is to provide an educational experience that will engender a love of learning in all that pass through our doors.

We believe in a four-day school week to give children some much needed downtime. We do offer “Funday Fridays” as an option for parents that work on Fridays. This is a half-day program focused on play and fun-filled activities. Our sister company, Green Valley Simple Living, also offers homesteading classes Friday afternoons that are open to our students for priority enrollment before opening to the public.

We hope to have you join us for the 2024-2025 school year and experience our truly unique and empowering approach to education!
“A community of learners living in line with the natural world and well prepared to face the challenges of the present and future.”
Our Vision
Our Mission
Our mission is to nurture independent, resilient young thinkers and future community leaders.
We believe children thrive when they learn the core subjects within the context of nature. This approach fosters independence, well-being, and a lifelong love of learning.
